Megan Murphy. Toronto Public Library. Google them to read about the clash between 'free-speech' advocates and LGBTQ+ community over letting a known transphobic speaker do her thing on city-owned property.
Is a person's right to free speech more important than the damage that speech may cause? In Canada, the Charter of Rights & Freedoms says no. Most people don't know this - nor have a firm grasp of what 'the right to free speech' actually refers to.
Does a woman espousing transphobic comments have a "right" to speak at a city-owned venue, or is her speech and its contribution to real violence against human beings being the kind of thing that the Charter meant about imposing "reasonable limits" to spouting off opinions?
Is refusing to allow a transphobe a platform in a city-owned building a slippery-slope to the wholesale loss of everyone's freedom to express opinions that are generally unpopular and inaccurate? That's this episode's debate.
Host: Steven Kerzner - http://Twitter.Com/StevenJKerzner
Panel:
Charlie Eau, a trans non-binary advocate for LGBTQ+ rights in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Samantha Emann, a news editor with Torstar Corporation with her finger on the pulse of news & opinions. - https://Twitter.Com/smemann
Graeme Frisque, a free speech advocate and city hall & politics reporter for the Brampton Guardian and Mississauga News. - https://Twitter.Com/GraemeFrisque

That's a frikkin' stupid question. But that was the headline on numerous articles based on "a study in new journal Sex Roles, a 2018 US federal report led by Pennsylvania State University psychologist Janet Swim, has found participants assessing eco-friendly activity would be more likely to question the sexuality of a man who engaged in things they saw as more “feminine” green behaviours."
So it's a dumb question. But listen to how dumb headlines lead to an interesting discussion about the strong messages men still receive about what's "MANLY" -- and what isn't. Plus, one of our panelists gets urgent legal advice on the show that he wasn't looking for! Man, the things we pack into one episode!
Host - Ed the Sock - http://Twitter.Com/EdTheSock
Panel:
Hafeez Noorani, producer of Mensplaining and Digital Strategy & Content Consultant - http://Twitter.Com/FeezyDoesIt
Paul Doroshenko - He has 'Q.C.' after his name, which means he's a lawyer, but not just any lawyer - a criminal defense lawyer. Just like the ones you see on TV shows! But he's real and a brand-new panelist! Welcome! - http://Twitter.Com/PaulDoroshenko
Andrew Willis - Host of "Andyland Radio" on CiTR radio available online anytime at https://andylandradio.com/. And he may or may not have some issues with dollar-store picture frames. - http://Twitter.Com/AndyLandRadio
Kyle Gunderson - Kyle's a software development expert from Saskatoon, so you understand why he needs the excitement of this show in his life! Plus he's our most excellent webmaster at http://FUNetwork.TV - a real whiz. That means "ace, expert", not a slang term for urination. - http://Twitter.Com/KyleGunderson

It actually made him cry. On national TV.
On an election eve TV broadcast, prominent conservative TV & radio broadcaster Charles Adler could no longer deny to himself or anyone else that the Conservative Party he had supported for decades was gone. No longer socially progressive and fiscally conservative, the present Conservative Party of Canada is home to "...extremists...Islamophobes...white nationalists or white supremacists...misogynists. The usual suspects of people who we choose not to associate with."
And it made him cry. His political home was gone.
What finally brought Charles to this realization? The answer is sincere & emotional - both things modern Conservative Party members frown upon.
When did the conservative movement in Canada lose its soul and can it be reclaimed? Steven and Charles talk about this and other related topics important to progressives, conservatives and our country.
Charles Adler is an Emmy Award-winning TV & radio broadcaster with decades of experience in Canada and the United States and an iconic voice of rational, reasonable conservative thought. His radio program, Charles Adler Tonight, is heard weekdays on Global News Radio (and, of course, also available at all times on the internet).

Face it - Election 2019 was a shitshow! Endless lies from an unscrupulous party, media chasing clickbait not stories, no discussion of real issues, hate site asshats elevated to 'journalists'...the list goes on!
Ed unleashes his fury on the people & parties responsible for making this the stupidest, worst-reported, ugliest, most lie-filled campaign ever! Plus reveals his solution for fixing the system - and it involves TV shows!
Panel:
Sarbjit Kaur is a communications strategist with KPW communications who worked in the McGuinty government and has worked on more than a dozen, federal, municipal and provincial election campaigns since then. - https://twitter.com/sarbjitkaur1
Bobby Umar is a professional speaker and business coach, who has spoken at TEDx 5 times. He is also a social media influencer and an expert on authentic connection, employee engagement and thought leadership. - https://twitter.com/raehanbobby
Kyle Gunderson is the saviour of http://funetwork.tv - quite literally. He grew up in a town of 400 people in Saskatchewan, so basically he had to hide he was gay until he moved to the big smoke in Saskatoon, where he now resides. He's worked in mining, resources, engineering and consulting for 6 years "in a past life" before settling into his current job as a software product developer. - http://Twitter.Com/KyleGunderson
Stuart Benson journalist, editor and self-described "Leftist Dirtbag" - we know him and love him, an #FU_Politics regular panelist - http://Twitter.Com/LeftHandStu

He's got a solid record of community involvement at the highest levels, care for the needy, a business background and graduated from Princeton & Yale. Taleeb Noormohamed is a smart guy. So why would he want to run as the new Liberal candidate against former Attorney-General and deified avatar of truth, newly independent (read: kicked out) candidate Jody Wilson-Raybould?
The local race, like many around the country, is neck-and-neck.
Steven talks to Taleeb about why he chose to run, what his values are, his feelings about black/brownface, facing real racism and the feeling among constituents that issues that matter to their community have been sidelined in favour of the JWR circus. Also, why an independent MP may as well be an empty seat.

Laura Budd is a Canadian, active in her community, and happened one afternoon to bump into her MP (at the time) Andrew Scheer. She asked him a question about whether he'd protect trans rights. His answer: he wants to 'cure' them.
He said he opposes Gay Conversion 'Therapy'. Apparently he supports Trans Conversion 'Therapy'?
Short interview, but important look into the mind of the man who wants to be our national leader.

Liberals and Conservatives are neck-and-neck in the polls. If Liberals get most number of seats, but not a majority, they form a Minority Government.
If the Conservatives get most number of seats, but not a majority - The Liberals may still become the next government!
Facts: Trudeau is PM until he resigns or is dismissed by the Governor-General. If he says he intends to form a government with help of smaller parties, or if Governor-General determines the Conservatives, even with highest seat count, can't effectively gain confidence of the House, Trudeau would remain PM - even if the Liberals win fewer seats than the Cons.
It's all legal, proper and constitutional. We've just never experienced in our lifetimes (last time was 1919). Canadians won't understand what happened. And Scheer & his partisans will be apoplectic! If you think they fought dirty and misrepresented facts DURING the election (they did) wait'll you see the Conservatives when they are denied government!
The rhetoric, the lies, the rage - it'll go to 11. And may rip this country apart.
